More running & less blogs…

So I am now in to week 8 of my training, and although building up my mileage, there have been less blogs!

My last blog was before we went on a Caribbean cruise around 3 weeks ago; although I did train and walk a lot during the 2 weeks away I decided to take a week out, as got fed up of this view on the running machine!

Since retuning I have had to step up the mileage and speed. Over 35 miles ran in the last 7 days; 26 in the last 3 days.

Today’s run a slow 7 miles building up my endurance.

Starting to really think about the big day now and the task ahead of me, but thankfully this is pushing me on to keep to the schedule.

Week 4 Run 2 Slow London Marathon Training

Slow 10km today anticipated in 66 minutes; although I went off slow I corrected myself in the second half of the run and eventually completed 10.5km in just over 67 minutes.

Ran today for the first time with some tunes and it made it a lot easier until my mighty music device died due to lack of power!

Tomorrow’s run will again be incorporated in to my weekly football; snow is predicted! Sunday’s run will hopefully be much warmer, but more on that on Sunday!

Week 4 Run 1 Fast Intervals London Marathon Training

The first run of week 4 was a tough fast interval session; 1.6km of jogging followed by 4 x 800 mtrs fast sprints with 200 mtrs recovering in between. Then 1.6km of jogging to close out.

I miscalculated the allotted recovery time after each 800 mtrs, as I should have had 2 minutes, but actually only used half of this hence why I might have found this a tad tough!

Here’s the statistics though; pleased with the sprints in this graph, as all sub 5 minute km’s.
