Day 18. With an early morning meeting at work to get to, today’s run had to be completed at the other end of the day, although still in the dark (How I dislike these long winter days). Today’s picture sums up my early morning start to the day rather than the run on this occasion!

Today’s run was 3km in length, which was a nice gentle distance, albeit a bit slow!

Today we did not pass Mrs Old (thank heavens or she would think we are stalking her).

Today’s song choices were back to my roots with two classic Elvis Costello numbers and Squeeze mixed in with Keane and Spandau Ballet.

Now for those who have been following my blog for some time (and yes it probably does feel like some time), you will know I mentioned my favourite song of all time and it was one of those tracks today and my #lyricathon.

Today we were lucky to have our CEO, Russell Clements, join the team for the morning at Wimbledon and the subsequent pleasure of lunch with him and our CIO, Lance Fisher. Not many organisations work like this and therefore our thanks go to both.

Total #janathon mileage after day 18 (day 12 for us) = 16.56 miles.

And now my daily #jokeathon

Q. What do you do when your chair breaks?
A. Call a chairman.

And to my daily #lyricathon. What song and artist? Answer tomorrow.Yesterday’s answer was Elvis Costello and “I don’t want to go to Chelsea”.

“Well I see you’ve got a husband now.
Did he leave your pretty fingers lying
in the wedding cake?
You used to hold him right in your hand.
I’ll bet he took all he could take.
Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking
when I hear the silly things that you say.
I think somebody better put out the big light,
cause I can’t stand to see you this way.”

And I’ve been asked by Graham Noakes to do a thought for the day, so I’m going to share a quote I love from Winston Churchill.

“If you are going to go through hell, keep going”.

  1. Love the quote, kind of makes me think things are ‘good’!! 😉

  2. Nice mileage Garry! Thought of the day? At least you didn’t call it ‘thoughtathon’ – that would have been too much!
