Day 20. It’s Friday (yippee) and hopefully seeing my lovely niece and her husband to be later for a shoe fitting (and drinks) for Georgina (their bridesmaid).

Good short run, but as the boiler broke last night, we knew we were coming back to a basin wash (hope I don’t smell today)! You just forget how fortunate we are at times like this to have hot running water!

Today’s run was just under a mile in length and pretty uneventful. Especially due to the absence of Mrs Old (again).

Today’s song choices included Adele and Deacon Blue (now that is a blast from the past – in a 80’s style).

Not a day seems to have gone by this week without the subject of Gen Y and consumerisation being part of the topic at work and although there is some debate over the birth year for Gen Y, there is no debate that I sit firmly in Gen X!

I certainly think this subject is going to mould the priorities for my team over the next couple of years.

Total #janathon mileage after day 20 (day 14 for us) = 18.55 miles.

And now my daily #jokeathon

Q. What do you call a country where everyone has to drive a red car?
A. Red carnation.

And to my daily #lyricathon. What song and artist? Answer tomorrow.Yesterday’s answer was Madness and of course “Bed and Breakfast man”.

“And I’d tear out the pages
That I’ve got in these books
Just to find you some words
Just to get some reward
And I’ll show you all the photographs
That I ever got took
And I’ll play you old 45’s
That now mean nothing to me”

And my thought for the day.

“Why does time go so fast when you are so busy?”

  1. That’s Deacon Blue ‘Real Gone Kid’ – I love Deacon Blue, in fact ‘Dignity’ is one of my fav all time tracks.
Good mileage Garry – only 11 days to go!
