It’s now two days since doing any physical activity and I am definitely suffering from withdrawal symptoms!

Tonight thankfully is footy night, so an opportunity to stretch my legs. Can’t wait!

By the way, what a wonderful morning this morning, albeit a bit parky!

Last night was a late one, as the CIO roundtable event in Mayfair did not finish until after 10 o’clock, but at least it is now Thursday.

We always consider Thursday the new Friday in the Lengthorn house, so the weekend is about to start! This weekend is especially exciting, as me and Georgina are seeing Olly Murs at the O2 at the weekend after her bridesmaid fitting with Keeley. Before you ask, I am only going as a chaperone (to Olly Murs)!

Yesterday at work we did a soft launch of the first of a number of consumerisation solutions we will deploy this year embracing bring your own devices to work and generation Y (those born after the late seventies). My thanks go to all the team for getting us to this stage, albeit a bit more work to complete before we are in the clear.

It’s always difficult to gauge how things will go with these kind of technologies, as there is always something you did not consider when planning out (no matter how thorough you are).

Let’s hope this is “Good” for us.

We are at a critical stage in a number of projects, so a lot of my time over the last 24 hours has been about engaging with key account people and ensuring that are aligned with what we need.

This afternoon, I’ve been attending meetings with my Finance colleagues (and IT staff) at Tower Hill. Unfortunately invoice payments is not the most interesting subject unless you are trying to ensure we never get a service cut again.

To finish, my quote for the day. A bonus point for getting the person. Yesterday’s was the words of the brilliant Bill Shankly.

“Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating. It’s just plain wrong.”

Tomorrow the lyricathon will be returning by popular demand.
