What a great night at the Olly Murs concert last night and what an eventful night home in the snow. Due to no Jubilee (still not clear how the underground is affected by snow), we got the river boat service home from the O2 (with some girls singing the theme song of Titanic, as we boarded – hmm)!
Well we certainly got our predicted snow and what a journey home it was.
Nearly 3 hours later via boat, train, bus and taxi! This is now the perfect opportunity to thank both the small taxi companies outside New Malden and Worcester Park station for taking the opportunity of the icy conditions and doubling their prices. Perfect community spirit!
Today has been a lazy day so far and the snow has certainly scuppered any attempt to run or cycle!
I guess there is no alternative for the rest of the day to just chill, watch Chelsea versus Man United and keep warm. Could be worse eh!
My quote for the day. A bonus point for getting the person. Yesterday’s was the words of Rod Schmidt.
“When snow falls, nature listens”
And finally today’s lyrics. Yesterday’s was of course Olly Murs and “dance with me tonight”
“When we finally say good night,
How I’ll hate going out in the storm;
But if you really hold me tight,
All the way home I’ll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we’re still good-bye-ing,
But as long as you love me so”.
Olly Murs?? Garry I really am starting to worry….at what age does ‘bad music taste’ begin???
Only because Chris Difford wrote a track or two!
It’s ok provided you only like the songs Chris Difford wrote for him…
Absolutely correct!
