I got to bed fairly early last night and felt much better when I woke up this morning. With an early morning conference call to Singapore, I was up and out early.

It still seems incredible that we have become a successful global company so quickly. It was good to catch up with Matt McManus, who was a member of our Henley Business school group in 2011.

The picture today is of the whole SThree team, which won the Henley annual summer baseball event (quite something for the 2012 crew to follow).

What a glorious morning it was, albeit a tad cold!

Today I’ve included the view from my office in Wimbledon, which is always special on a clear day. Not sure my new office view in Bank will be as good as this!

With a much more positive mode this morning, I’ve achieved a number of things today. It’s incredible how important your attitude is each day and what impact it can have on your team. I was reminded of this today by two of my respected colleagues (Matt Cook and Joff Bukht), who noticed how low my spirits seemed yesterday.

You never stop learning. No matter how old you get (no comments please)!

My quote for the day. A bonus point for getting the person. Yesterday’s was the words of Winston Churchill once more. I find you can always rely on him for a classic when you are feeling low!

“The 1980s will seem like a walk in the park when compared to new global challenges, where annual productivity increases of 6% may not be enough. A combination of software, brains, and running harder will be needed to bring that percentage up to 8% or 9%”.

And finally today’s lyrics. Yesterday’s was of course the Clash and “London calling”.

“Are teenage dreams so hard to beat
Everytime she walks down the street
Another girl in the neighbourhood
Wish she was mine, she looks so good”.
