Today’s been a long day at work after an early morning meeting at the HQ for the Connect the World project. Because of Deana Salmon, one of my colleagues at HQ, all I can think of, whenever referencing this project, is Sir Bob & co at Live Aid!

This meeting was followed by a dash off across town to a meeting with our Learning & Development team. After that I was interviewed in relation to our Good for Enterprise launch by Stephen Spiers, our Intranet Editor!

Thankfully this interview is only for internal consumption, but it’s always nice to be put on the spot and set some challenging questions to be viewed by our customers in the next week or two!

After that, it was back to sunny Wimbledon (well it was actually raining) and two further meetings. One to discuss a new network configuration in our Dubai office and the other the legal aspects of a deal we hope to conclude with a major software company and their SQL server hosting service (guess who)!

I still think it strange how complicated it can be to provide services in other regions. In relation to Dubai, we can provide Skype, but not point to point video via Polycom equipment. Daft!

To close out, I thought it only appropriate to finish with the words that made Sir Bob Geldof famous on that day in 1985. No, it’s not the lyrics of a Boomtown Rats number! The quality is not good, but the message is!
