After a rest from the bike last night, I’m contemplating my next big bike ride in training for the BHF ride.

A consideration is a trip in to London at the weekend when the sun goes down (what sun?) to trial my lights and provide some real prep work for the overnight ride. I must be mad!

Clearly my landmark poser yesterday of St. Magnus the Martyr was either too difficult or of no interest. I will assume the former! The answer was Sir Christopher Wren. He was clearly in demand following the fire!

Today’s photo is of London Bridge. Everyone is familiar with the myth that the old London Bridge was purchased in error (mistaken for Tower Bridge), but where is the old bridge now located?

Although not any different to normal, my day was filled with meetings at our Bank office today.

Although some of these were sensitive one-2-one meetings, one of them was with two of my team to discuss our approach to managing suppliers globally to deliver world class local support for our regional offices. Another theme for delivering world class service, as a function. Although what we are developing won’t happen overnight, I’m excited around our approach and appetite to take this on.

Most of the rest of my day was taken up preparing our monthly report to the executive board. Normally this is quick to produce, but some issues with our head count figures made this a real challenge!

There are now 78 days to the Olympics. Yesterday’s blog event was Judo and the series that made Brian Jacks an household name was Superstars! Well done to Shaun Wells for getting both.

Today’s. This event was run by Brendan Foster in 1976 where he won the bronze medal, which was Britain’s only track and field medal! What event?

The highlight of the day had to be the fact that I finally worked out my head count numbers and finalised my report! Painful exercise.

  1. So are we supposed to e-mail you answers – even if it’s as obvious as Sir Christopher Wren? Were there any churches rebuilt after the fire that he didn’t build 😉

  2. Lake Havasu City is where the old London Bridge is – I’ve seen it!

  3. Garry – fair play, the questions are getting harder. Though as Andy has proven, they’re very Google-able…
