The end of a particularly busy week at work and at home.

No bike ride last night, but it was footy night followed by a few (too many) beers. Actually our normal hour of footy turned in to two hours, so was drained by the time we finished!

My landmark poser from yesterday related to London Bridge was quickly answered by Andy Robb, so suspect some googling was in play! The answer was Arizona.

Today’s photo is of the Bank of England. My question today is what is unusual about George Soros – the man who broke the bank of England by anticipating the Black Wednesday crash in 1992?

At our Bank office again today and the main subject of a number of our meetings was Russell Clements, our CEO, who will be retiring next year. Although not completely a surprise, Russell is highly respected within our business and will be a hard act to follow. His successor, Gary Elden, is actually another SThree lifer who is a born leader, so begins another chapter in our history.

I’m pleased for Russell, as this break will now give him time to play with his new toy!

Apart from that, Connect was my focus, as a number of updates to present for next weeks meeting. Some pain points were added for Brazil this week, but thankfully they are mostly themes we are already addressing.

There are now 77 days to the Olympics. Yesterday’s blog event was related to Brendan Foster and well done to Andy Robb for getting the event, which was 10,000 metres.

Today’s event is related to Alexander Popov, who won 4 golds at the 1992 and 1996 in two disciplines?

The highlight of the day had to be the fact that I’ve worked through the Brazil Connect pain points and it’s the weekend! Have a great one.
