Is it any surprise that Danny Boyle’s showcase open ceremony for the Olympics has been torn to shreds.

His giant mock up of the English countryside has been ridiculed as a big farm and is getting the usual scepticism you can only expect in England’s green and pleasant land.

I personally hope this idea is a huge success. Maybe it’s hard for people to see how this might transform in to a successful live event, but we have hugely talented individuals in this country, so I am sure it will be brilliant.

My only concern is the weather. Do we really need fake clouds with water? It’s more likely that the whole scene will get flooded like the real life scenes across the country this week (oh dear)!

I also see that the sporting press are now up to their usual habits and dismissing Sweden ahead of England’s next big game on Friday!

What we forget, is that unlike the World Cup, there are no weak teams at Euro 2012, so why do the press honestly believe that they should be no match for us?

This sets the wrong tone for the game, and if I was a Swedish player, I’d love to put one over England if this was circulating!

We have two very difficult games ahead, and personally, I think it will be a great result if we can somehow manage to scrape 3 points on Friday!

As more details are released for the next IOS version (6), it is clear that a number of features are being driven from the requirements of the corporate workspace, as Apple try to increase their market share.

The article attached highlights a number of these.

It’s also interesting how Apple are now ditching Google maps for their own solution developed with TomTom. Is this a wise move for TomTom considering my iPod touch has the same estate size and does everything a TomTom can do? Am I missing something?
